Course Details

Background

This course is designed for beginners who have never built a WordPress website (or any website for that matter). This course is designed to teach the strategies used to help grow businesses with social media marketing, content marketing and email marketing.

WordPress paired with various digital marketing platforms are the perfect tools for creating a fully customized website for any purpose that can increase conversions and sales. Whether you want to create a blog, a personal portfolio, or a business website to sell your products and services, you can do it with WordPress.

Rationale

The Web Design & Digital Marketing course is an introduction to the design, creation, and maintenance of web pages and websites. It will also introduce students to dozens of proven digital marketing strategies to help grow business presence and revenue.

Students learn how to critically evaluate website quality, learn how to create and maintain quality web pages, learn about web design standards and why they're important, and learn to create and manipulate images.

The course progresses from introductory work on web design and digital marketing to a culminating project in which students design and develop a website for an organisation.

Aim

To gain the skills to be able to plan, design, and implement a web site using current standards and best practices as well as effectively implement digital market strategies for different businesses. 

Objectives

At the end of the program Learners should be able to:

  1. Build beautiful responsive websites using WordPress.
  2. Understand how to get your website found by search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
  3. Learn how to make your website secure and protected from hackers
  4. Learn how social media marketing uses all of the most popular social media platforms to grow a business
  5. Learn how to increase conversions and sales with real-world techniques

Entry requirements

You will need a working computer and a modern browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Expected prior knowledge

Must have competency in file management and using computer applications.

COURSE DELIVERY.

Intensive 2 weeks of didactic lectures, hands-on practical and tutorials sessions

QUALIFICATION

Upon successful completion, the candidates will be awarded a certificate in Web Design and Digital Marketing and a grade appended to the certificate. This qualification will only apply to a student who passes the final exam and completes the assignment or quizzes.
