Career Profile

Dr. Charity Meki-Kombe is a senior academic and leader with over 15 years of experience in higher education. She is currently the Director of Postgraduate Studies and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Mulungushi University. Her career includes previous roles as Acting Director of Research & Postgraduate Studies at Mulungushi and significant research positions such as a Research Associate at the University of Leeds, UK, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Her professional background also encompasses work as a Senior Research Officer at the Examinations Council of Zambia, a Community Education Officer at the Anti-Corruption Commission, a Lecturer at Evelyn Hone College, a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Zambia, and an Examiner for the British Council.
Dr. Meki-Kombe has held significant leadership roles, including serving as the former Editor-in-Chief of the Mulungushi University Multidisciplinary Journal (MUMJ) and as a Board Member of Northrise University and Graduate Women Zambia. She is an accomplished researcher and supervisor, recognized with several awards, including the University of Pretoria (Tuks) Young Research Leader Fellow and U.S. Department of State Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Scholar.

Complementing her formal degrees, she has pursued a significant portfolio of professional certifications. These include credentials in Diplomatic Practice, Protocol and Public Relations from the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, and anti-corruption training from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE). She has also received advanced international training in higher education quality assurance, postgraduate supervision, and research ethics from institutions such as the University of Potsdam (Germany), the National Health Research Authority (Zambia), and the University of Pretoria (South Africa).
